Almost 40 years after the original graced the silver screen, 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice', the sequel is here.
Guess Who's Back
Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton reprise their roles as Lydia and Beetlejuice, with rising star Jenna Ortega joining the family as Ryder's (Lydia's) daughter.
Set in the fictional village of Winter River, the zany follow-up to the classic horror-comedy 'Beetlejuice' focuses on Lydia whose ability to speak to the dead has earned her millions...and a TV show. But, there's one person Lydia keeps seeing that she hopes is a figment of her imagination and that's Beetlejuice.
Don't Say His Name Three Times
Following the trope of some other famous villains like Candyman and Bloody Mary, say their names enough times and they'll appear. For Beetlejuice, it's three times and since no one around Lydia seems to believe her about this, it's to their detriment as Beetlejuice is summoned, immediately wreaking havoc on everyone around him.

Tim Burton
Who else could direct this movie but Tim Burton? Especially as he did such a stellar job with the original. I love how this sequel didn't try to be perfect, it paid homage to the first film in many ways but with so much more punch.
SFX
The SFX (special effects) were reminiscent of the 80s, opting for practical props, claymation and slap-stick humour rather than the guts and gore that we're accustomed too in modern times. Still, it didn't take away from the story or fun of the film, in fact it made it stand out and for newcomers to the franchise offered something that's quite different and refreshing.
Worth The Watch
The horror-comedy is packed full of laugh-out-loud moments from start to finish with a twist you'll never see coming...
