Niki Kini: dressed up, on a mission

Dropped by her label six months ago for being "too Indian for my sound" (a statement which is wrong on every level btw), Niki Kini has taken to socials - "dressed up on a mission" quite literally to find her core audience and prove her ex label wrong...

And boy is she!

Niki Kini

Niki's been coming up on my fyp a lot lately and is just too good of an emerging artist to ignore! The song, which I'm going to share with you is about them (her ex label) and she doesn't mince her words with lyrics like "don't cross me I'm not Christian"...gotta love the wordplay!

Listen to a snippet of the unreleased track here:

Her story so far reminds me of Raye's; label not believing in artist or being willing to invest in their music. It's a shame really but it's their loss when you think about the heights Raye's career has gone to since she took to socials to share her story. I'm hoping Niki can follow in Raye's footsteps and be a breakout artist.

Rooting for her in every way!
