Here's why I believe the 19-year-old pop artist is set to be a BIG star!

Whether her stage name takes punny inspiration from Huey Lewis and the News' song "power of love" (from the Back To The Future soundtrack) or not her music, style and name are as fresh as a daisy.

flowerovlove is my latest discovery or should I say favourite find? A snippet of her song popped up on my fyp (for you page) and I was absolutely obsessed from the first play. It's that indie pop, synth pop goodness that has a super nostalgic feel and that's been missing from the radio...until now. I just adore how flowerovlove sings about relatable, lovable topics and she does it in a way that would make even a heartbroken skeptic believe in love again.

Her latest single 'breaking news' - all about being in love with your crush - racked up over 250k streams in its first 2 days and is continuing to rise! View the very cutesy music video below:

I feel like Shingai from The Noisettes walked so flowerovlove could run in terms of embracing their natural hair and fronting their own project unapologetically. There was so much pushback from Shingai's label when she wanted to have her natural hair shaped in a love heart for The Noisette's 2nd studio album "Wild Young Hearts" (2009) and almost two decades later things have seemingly changed where now it's a complete non-issue. I'm so glad Shingai fought because damn, that cover and album was incredible! "Wild Young Hearts" inspired and influenced me heavily as a teenager and artist. It was the first time I'd ever seen a black female rock out with a guitar on a prominent scale, and that's when I knew that's what I wanted to do too!

With a string of festival performances under her belt and a USA tour ahead, I'm predicting BIG things for this artist on the rise! All I can say is it's flowerovlove's time, time, time.
